The last remaining shred of the material plane is teetering on the brink of war. With the emperor slain, conniving politicians are maneuvering for power, forming alliances and stabbing each other in the back. Meanwhile, the impoverished masses are pointing fingers at other races for the devastating smallpox epidemic and all their misfortunes. One by one, entire villages are succumbing to the disease… only to inexplicably rise again from the dead.
As if that weren’t enough, a demon cult has opened the gates to another plane. The undead unleash on both humans and demons, and the conflict burns with an all-devouring fire. Cities are besieged, outposts along the frontier are decimated, and the nomadic orcs of the desert are banding together in a show of force.
But the greatest horror of all is yet to come: chthonic horror creatures are emerging from long-abandoned tunnels beneath the earth and a colossal eye has appeared in the sky, casting an ominous shadow over the already-devastated land.
